I am Damith Danthanarayana, a wildlife, nature, and macro photographer based in Sri Lanka.
Since 2015, photography has been a major part of my life. I never get bored with nature since I love it very much. My love for wildlife and nature photography helps me teach others about the consequences of wildlife and nature and encourages them to care about their preservation. And macro photography offers me an opportunity to showcase the unseen beauty of the small world. My attempt as a macro photographer is to project macro behaviors into large displays to change people’s feelings about insects, bugs, spiders, and other small species.
My photographs have been awarded in several international competitions, including the Sony World Photography Competition (2018) and the ND Awards (2021). Some of my works have been featured on several international platforms, including BBC Earth and BBC Wildlife Magazine.
